Assignments in the fellowship are often cross-functional and evolving. They call for solutions to be shaped with context and judgement.
The fellowship offers exposure across businesses, functions and leadership teams. Each assignment brings a different problem, context and perspective and helps fellows build a broader understanding of the organisation.
Fellows take a high degree of ownership, bringing people together, shaping decisions and carrying ideas from problem definition through to implementation.
The fellowship is designed for people who value variety, are comfortable working through ambiguity and are willing to take responsibility beyond a defined role.
Fellows become part of the team solving the problem, working closely with business owners, navigating different perspectives and helping move the work forward. This can include structuring an idea, testing it with teams and supporting execution on the ground. structuring an idea, testing it with teams and supporting execution on the ground.
Sundaram Fellowship provides exposure to capabilities across business and functional areas:
Throughout the fellowship, mentors and fellows stay closely connected through regular conversations to review priorities, discuss progress and bring perspective to the journey ahead.
The fellowship begins with an initial period of immersion that introduces fellows to Sundaram Finance, its businesses and the priorities shaping the organisation. Fellows begin their first project within the first month, moving quickly from understanding context to active work.
Fellows take on a mix of short and long-term assignments across businesses, functions and priorities. Over time, these projects build a broader understanding of the organisation and how different parts come together.
As the fellowship progresses, fellows can build depth in areas of interest or continue working across different businesses and functions. The journey is shaped by project needs, individual strengths and where each fellow can contribute most.
Graduates from any academic discipline may apply. An undergraduate degree is required. A postgraduate degree is desirable.
Sundaram Fellows bring different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We look for people who are curious, thoughtful and open to different points of view.
Most importantly, we value initiative grounded in responsibility: the willingness to step beyond what is asked, take ownership and make a meaningful contribution to the outcome.
We value the ability to break down unfamiliar problems, exercise sound judgement and articulate thinking clearly. We also look for people who work effectively across teams and with senior leaders, build credibility and bring people along.
